Project Engineer
Location: Montvale, NJ
Position Overview
The Project Engineer supports production planning, international logistics coordination, and supply chain optimization initiatives. This role works closely with suppliers, freight partners, and internal teams to ensure product availability, cost efficiency, and smooth execution of supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Supply Management
Plan production schedules based on client forecasts and delivery requirements.
Coordinate purchase orders and shipment schedules.
Monitor inventory levels across multiple warehouses.
Prevent overstocking and stock shortages through careful demand planning.
International Logistics Coordination
Coordinate international freight operations including air and ocean shipments.
Work with international freight forwarders across Europe, South America, and Asia.
Manage customs clearance and duty filings with customs brokers.
Negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers to optimize logistics costs.
Supply Chain Optimization
Analyze supply chain performance and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Monitor landed cost of imported products and identify cost reduction strategies.
Implement logistics and distribution improvements.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Use ERP and logistics systems to track KPIs and supply chain performance.
Conduct data analysis to support operational decision-making.
Review product specifications to ensure quality standards are met.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing and sales teams to forecast product demand.
Coordinate supply chain activities with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Maintain regular communication with clients, vendors, and coworkers regarding project status.
Project Coordination
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and track progress.
Troubleshoot supply chain issues and implement corrective solutions.
Review production schedules and ensure required documentation is completed.
Additional Duties
Participate in operational improvement initiatives.
Conduct market analysis related to materials and supply chain trends.
Support internal teams with ongoing logistics and operational needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
Experience in supply chain operations, logistics coordination, or production planning preferred.
Familiarity with international freight operations and customs procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across teams.
Experience with ERP systems and logistics software is beneficial.
